Municipal Matters: Building Capacity for Local Climate Conversations 

  • This report, by UBC’s Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions, discusses challenges related to climate communication within communities, with particular attention to misinformation.  
  • It includes three case studies of community climate communication. 
  • It recommends approaches to hosting climate conversations, and addresses messaging, safety, community engagement, collaboration, measurement, and timeliness. 

Open Space Technology 

  • The in-person Climate Initiatives Workshop hosted in partnership with Nelson Public Library will be conducted in an open space style, where participants set the agenda. This short document describes open space meetings. 

British Columbia Library Association Climate Action Statement 

  • This statement identifies calls to climate action for libraries as they support their communities in climate change related adaptation, preparation, and mitigation efforts.
